Clinical Resource Management Clinical Resource Specialist
The Clinical Resource Specialist implements the plans and interventions defined by the Case Managers and Clinical Social Workers. Under the direction of the case management staff, performs multiple activities that support the movement and transitions of patients out of the inpatient hospital setting. Assists in the administration of Case Management functions to include but not limited to, organization of work flow, communications, and links to community resources, transport and clothing assistance to facilitate discharge. Provides clerical and support functions to the case management staff members with the goal of promoting expeditious patient transfers and/or discharges. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive patient information. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Insurance/payer experience preferred. Ability to use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, scanner, computer. PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Approximately two to three years of progressively more responsible experience in either healthcare reimbursement, managed care, and/or resource utilization including familiarity with word processing, spread sheet and database management computer software and applications. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION/LICENSURE: No special certification, registration, or licensure is required.
