Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.

 1. Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.

 2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

 3. Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.

 4. Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.

 5. Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.

 6. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.

 7. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

 8. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

 9. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.

 10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 11. Participates in special projects as assigned.


Position Description

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Analyze, diagnose, replicate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by customer using the Pivotal PaaS platform
  • Take ownership, manage and maintain status on support requests
  • Escalate unresolved issues that require more in-depth knowledge in a timely manner
  • Report and submit product defects and collaborate with Engineering to triage customer issues
  • Create and peer review knowledgebase articles and product documentation
  • Willing and able to learn new technologies
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


5-8 years of related systems engineering experience.



  • This role will support US government clients that require US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.  Given this, US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for you to apply.
  • 4-7 years of Linux system and network administration
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
  • Strong professional demeanor with customers a must
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize support requests
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, responsible and must be a team player
  • Understand networking protocols and functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS).
  • Experience with one or more of the following Linux operating systems: Ubuntu, Centos, Suse, RHEL, Arch Linux, Windows
  • Ability to read, understand and make small changes to moderately complex applications written in one of the following languages: Ruby, Python Rails, GO, NodeJS, .NET and/or Java is preferred
  • Familiar with AWS, Azure, OpenStack, vSphere, or other IaaS/Cloud infrastructure
