Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (SCS) fulfills the university's educational mission by offering a wide range of degree programs and applied learning experiences to a broad and inclusive community of students and professionals. The educational programs found within Georgetown SCS combine theory with practice through rigorous curricula led by experts in their fields, providing opportunities for students to excel academically and professionally. In keeping with Georgetown's Catholic and Jesuit heritage and values, SCS educates women and men to be self-reflective, critical thinkers who are committed to serve in greater society.

The Director of Finance and Operations contributes to the development and implementation of effective operational and financial strategies, policies and practices for all Summer and Special Programs. In addition to identifying, procuring and prioritizing resources for SCS programs on both the main and medical campus, the Director maintains, monitors and reconciles more than 35 program budgets, and negotiates contracts with vendors, ensuring timely submission and approval of contracts.  The Director maintains proper fiscal records including receipts, invoices, PPOs, and contracts; generates, disseminates, and tracks bids for required services; submits all departmental invoices to be paid to the SCS Finance Office; and maintains and documents all purchases of a University ProCard.  S/he supervises the department's human resources and payroll unit to ensure all summer seasonal staff and faculty are identified, hired, and paid in an accurate and timely manner.  Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Director of Finance and Operations has duties that include but are not limited to:
