The Associate Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations in the Robert H. Smith School of Business is responsible for assisting in achieving the unit goals for corporate and foundation relations.

The ADCFR is responsible for managing and developing funding for many of the events at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. This will entail strengthening relationships with current and prospective corporate donors, soliciting gifts, providing benefits for corporate support, ensuring proper recognition and overseeing participation at the events. In conjunction with the Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Associate Director will create strategies to maximize engagement by corporate entities with the college.

The Associate Director will also participate in cultivating and soliciting new, multifaceted institutional partnerships at all levels and maximizing the return on investment by our partners. In addition to focusing college-wide, the Associate Director will develop subject matter expertise to support our philanthropic priorities. The position is responsible for soliciting gifts from new corporate, foundation, and institutional donors of $25,000-$500,000.

Minimum Qualifications

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of successful fundraising, membership development or sales experience required. Demonstrated ability of working with high-level corporate/foundation representatives; building donor/customer and prospect relationships and developing stewardship activities; and soliciting and closing gifts or deals of five figures or more. S/he will have demonstrated success in fundraising and/or sales, as well as proposal writing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have the ability to synthesize complex material and have a great attention to detail.
Must have the ability to manage many projects simultaneously, and a demonstrated record of completing assignments.
Must have a strong customer service ethic and experience overseeing successful stewardship events and activities.
Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills that will enable him or her to work well with diverse groups of constituents and colleagues. On behalf of corporations, s/he may be responsible for liaising across campus regarding and within different departments at the Smith School.
Must demonstrate the aptitude to represent the University in a highly professional and effective manner.
