Provide system safety engineering and advisory support.  Serves as a neutral independent subject matter expert to provide direct support to the Director of Safety for the safety review process. Work shall include:

a. Reviewing safety documentation and comment on submitted safety documentation, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with federal, DoD, state and local requirements; to include Process Safety Management.
b. Review best practices and recommend ways to apply those practices to Range Safety requirements.
c. Develop and maintain a program by program set of tailored range safety requirements. Assist the OSL to validate and negotiate appropriate program requirements.
d. Provide support in the development and maintenance of mishap investigation policies. Provide technical and programmatic support necessary to conduct internal mishap investigations.
e. Provide system safety inputs into the engineering design, and acquisition process of new and enhanced/upgraded payloads including System Safety Support for Special Access Programs.

f. Assist the Director of Safety to perform safety surveillance of selected satellite launch readiness processing operations.

g. As directed by the Government, attend meetings and serve on working groups that impact safety.

 1. Develops and applies quality standards in accordance with company and customer requirements.

 2. Designs and implements methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and equipment.

 3. Recommends corrective action for procedural, product, or process deficiencies.

 4. Interfaces with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.

 5. Leads quality audits.

 6. May provide quality related training.

 7. Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced quality assurance personnel, and may have supervisory responsibilities.

 8. Participates in special projects as required.

Education 1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

 2. Masters Degree preferred.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related quality engineering experience.
