Associate Director, Early Identification Program

The George Mason University Early Identification Program (EIP) invites enthusiastic, forward-thinking, student-centered individuals for the position of Associate Director. The Early Identification Program is an innovative program for first-generation, college-bound middle and high school students throughout seven school divisions in northern Virginia. The Associate Director reports to the Director of EIP, who currently reports to the Associate Dean of University Life.

Responsibilities: The target start date for the position is late June or early July of 2017. The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director are: * Oversight of several program components; assessment to illustrate program outcomes; * Liaise with program partners; staff supervision; * Monitor student academic and program progress; * Counsel/advise students as needed; and * Offer students age-appropriate information/programming to promote academic, career, and personal and social development.

Required Qualifications: * Masters degree, or training and work experience at a level which equates to an advanced degree; * Must have experience working with middle school, high school and college student populations; and * Available to work some weekend and evening hours.

Preferred Qualifications: * Possess a minimum of three years of experience as an educator and advocate for students in a public school or higher education setting; and * Minimum of two years of supervision experience.
