Principal Microsoft Exchange Engineer
The successful candidate will be responsible for research, design, development and/or modification of enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Must demonstrate proven experience working with a large enterprise distributed computing environment. The ideal candidate will excel in a team environment, yet able to work independently. Specific responsibilities include:Perform data discovery and architecture/design for Exchange migration projects.Implement Exchange, perform Exchange migrations and support/troubleshoot existing installations.Integrate Exchange with load balancing, anti-spam and content filtering solutions.Resolves complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.Researches emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.Participates in special projects as required.Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.Utilizes logical problem solving to find creative solutions to problems in the environment.Author design documents, build procedure, test proceduresMust have good organizational skills and the ability to follow-through on projects with minimal supervision.Support IT goals and objectives including measures and projects.Ensures that system improvements and changes are implemented correctly and completely, and monitor all effects of the modifications.Establishes/recommends policies on system use and services.Provides after hours and on-call support as required. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Qualifications 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, 2013 and 2016.Working knowledge of VMWare vSphere platform principles, including creating and configuring VMs with advanced disk layouts.Developing and implementing MS Clustering solutions including CCR and DAGDeveloping and implementing High Availability solutions including hardware/software load balanced CAS/HUBAbility to create, test and execute complex PowerShell commands and scriptsFamiliarity with Load Balancers such as F5, Cisco and Citrix NetScalersEmail Domain Management. (MX, SPF, PTR, A record knowledge)Experience migrating from previous versions to Exchange.Experience with Exchange 2010/2013, including architecture and deployment of multi node DAGs. Geo redundant DAGs and server virtualization a plus.Proven expertise with core Microsoft Windows enterprise components to include: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2Understanding of basic networking components – IP addressing and sub-netting, NAT, firewall technologies.Solid understanding of Active Directory (AD) including Multi-Forest, Multi-domain, and Group policy to include how Exchange is impacted by AD elementsExperience with Azure Active Directory Synchronization Tool (DirSync) and Microsoft EOP service.Experience with SMTP mail gateways such as Symantec Mail Gateway (SMG)Experience with network captures and network troubleshootingExperience with SSL certificates and encrypted/signed email technologiesExperience with client applications/troubleshooting – OWA / Outlook 2010 – 2016
