The George Mason University College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) invites applications for the position of Director for Academic Outreach. Responsibilities: This is a 12-month administrative faculty appointment reporting to the Associate Dean of Community Engagement within CHHS. The incumbent oversees both the continuing education operations for CHHS and the on-site delivery to health and human service agencies, and organizations in the region of core courses for selected academic graduate programs. With the advent of increased access to distance education offerings, on-site delivery of both continuing education and academic courses are undergoing significant change. The new Director for Academic Outreach will provide a vision and leadership for a vibrant Office of Community Engagement that takes into consideration rapid technological change and the needs of contemporary adult learners.

We seek someone who has entrepreneurial experience and success in developing new courses and programs to meet ongoing health education needs of health and human service professions. The individual we seek should have the ability to assess market needs and demands in order to develop and deliver new offerings to target audiences.

Required Qualifications: * Masters degree is required; * Ability to work independently and be a self-starter to generate new leads; * Build and maintain new and existing relationships with college stakeholders; * Demonstrated ability to assess needs for health organizations and professionals in health-related fields; * Significant experience with continuing education including the processes for planning, budgeting, and organizing high-quality conferences; * Knowledge of the processes for approving and awarding continuing education units for various professional groups; * Experience with distance education delivery; and * Clinical experience/knowledge to understand the best practices in developing clinically related programs.

Preferred Qualifications: * Doctoral degree in a relevant field is desired; * Ability to work with diverse academic program leaders to create successful pipeline strategies for new and existing graduate degree programs; * Ability to work with international groups to deliver culturally appropriate offerings; and * Demonstrated ability to obtain relevant professional accreditations (e.g., ANCC Nursing Accreditation).
