Evaluates and trains Tactical Action Officers serving on Aegis Platforms in ASW, ASUW, IAMD, and BMD. Serves as Assistant Site Lead and manages up to 20 trainers in support of waterfront Training program. Develops, organizes, and conducts Naval Warfare tactical and technical training and educational programs in support of Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment, San Diego.

1. Coordinates the development and delivery of complex Naval Warfare training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives.

 

2. Establishes and reviews Navy Waterfront Training course content and objectives.

 

3. Conducts Navy Basic Phase training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.

 

4. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.

 

5. Updates Advanced Warfare Training course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.

 

6. Provides work leadership to lower level trainers, including evaluating and certification of the effectiveness of their training presentations and programs, and will have supervisory responsibilities.

 

7. Will serve as Assistant Site Lead which includes: day to day management and supervision of 20 plus direct reports as well as the coordination of contract training responsibilities with Center for Surface Combat Systems San Diego Detachment OIC; responsible for generation and review and of Travel Authorizations for all of TEAM GDIT personnel in San Diego as well as Travel Claim review and approval for all San Diego site GDIT employees; responsible for generations, review, and approval of all direct report goals and evaluations in IPC; will review and approve all Post Mission Reports; interview prospective new employees and make hiring recommendations to the program manager; and be responsible for the planning and coordination of Site Watch Bills in support of all assigned training missions..

 

8. Conducts research into new training, educational, and multimedia technologies.

 

9. Maintains proficiency and relevancy in current Navy Tactics, Techniques and Procedures in support of Surface Warfare Training.

 

10. Participates in special projects as required.Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel.

  

  

Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of Navy Fleet experience and training, education, technical certifications {TAO qualification on BMD capable Platform, JICO qualification, BMDWO qualification, and ASW Evaluator Qualification (AV15)}.

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of Navy tactical and technical warfare training programs such as support of Combat Systems Training Team and Navy Instructor (NEC 9502). Must have TAO qualification on Aegis BMD capable ship, experience as Force Air and BMD Watch Officer is a plus. SCC/SAG-C experience on DESRON or Strike Group Staff is a plus.

 Travel may be up to 25 % of time.
