Corporate and Securities Legal Assistant
Full service global 100 law firm has an immediate opening for an experienced legal assistant to assist the attorneys in their Corporate/Securities Group. Seeking a proactive "team player" with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines is a must. Strong communication skills are required to interact with other professional staff, attorneys and clients.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in corporate/securities law, either in-house or with a law firm. Experience in corporate, LLC and partnership formation, dissolution, mergers and corporate maintenance required. Duties will include preparing organizational materials, annual reports, maintaining corporate minute books, organizing due diligence projects, document ordering and filing, organizing documents and closing books in connection with corporate transactions, conducting on-line corporate and UCC research and miscellaneous related work required by the group. Familiarity with Hart Scott Rodino filings is not required, but is a plus. A working knowledge of the Internet, Lexis/Nexis, Information America, and other research software is a definite plus.
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance
- ABA Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate, a plus
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrate leadership skills and a detail-oriented mindset
- Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet client needs
- Proficiency MS Office; including Excel
