Category Leadership/Management Facility RIVERSIDE TAPPAHANNOCK HOSP Department LABORATORY Schedule Full Time Hours M-F 8:30-5 Job Details Bachelor's Degree Certification Required or Eligible 6 years of experience required Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is seeking experienced MT leaders for a Director of Laboratory and Cardiopulmonary Services opening. Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is a non-profit 67 bed facility caring primarily for citizens in the Tappahannock area, including Essex, King & Queen and King William counties and the Northern Neck counties of Richmond, Westmoreland, Northumberland, and Lancaster. RTH has been recognized for Top Performance in Quality 3 years in a row by The Joint Commission. The laboratory, being a part of the larger Riverside Health System, has new state of the art Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Microbiology instrumentation. The department is College of American Pathologist Accredited, and has an annual workload of 140,000 procedures, and growing. Job Summary: Responsible to the facility Administrator and the Department Medical Director. Functions as the Director and General Supervisor for waived, moderate and high complexity testing with responsibility for the overall coordination and operation of the laboratory services for a 24 hr / 365 day operation. The applicant would directly supervise 11 to 12 experienced Medical Laboratory professionals and one Cardiopulmonary Manager. Responsible for the direction of Cardiopulmonary Department, providing inpatient and outpatient services. Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required or equivalent health sciences degree is required; Master's Degree in Laboratory Sciences and/or business would be a plus. Licensure: ASCP registered MT/MLS is required or eligible Experience: Six years or more recent experience as general clinical laboratory technologist (MLS) is required. As the applicant will have a major role in leadership for the Hospital and the laboratories of the Riverside Health System, prior management experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
