AMEWAS, Inc., an established and reputable Department of Defense Contractor, is seeking highly motivated, Systems Engineers for Avionics to support 4.5 SSQ-125A Sonobuoy efforts at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Qualifications include performing a wide range of analytical tasks as well as experience developing technical recommendations. Other qualifications include experience preparing clear, succinct reports for management consideration. A typical day as the Systems Engineer:Acting as a lead Systems Engineer supporting the SSQ-125A Sonobuoy upgrade, Navy Underwater Active Multiple Ping (NUAMP), as well as the Extended Life Sonobuoy programsServing as Technical Advisor to the PMA264 Assistant Program Manager Engineer (APME) and respective project managersResponsible for the technical management of avionics systems during various phases of development, test and evaluation, production and fleet usePreparing plans, milestone schedules and other control documentsVerification activities to illustrate how the design matches requirementsQualifications and Experience:8 years' relevant experience including supporting avionics systems with NAVAIR programsPrior military experience is highly desiredExperience in requirements development and analysisSpecification development and requirements negotiation (ASW domain is highly desired)ASW/avionics engineering skills and experience are requiredUS Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearanceAbility to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentEducation:Bachelor's degree in Electrical OR Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category, Engineer IV.
