DC based law firm seeks a Project AssistantAs a Project Assistant, you will work together with experienced Litigation Paralegals on:Document organization, case management, preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions, e-discovery projects, drafting, factual research, data base input, searches and document review, research, compiling data, managing case files. You will receive training on legal research tools such as cite checking, Shepardizing, legal data base research. Promotion to Paralegal title after one year for successful Project Assistants. This is a mid-size law firm. Participate fully in the cases you are assigned. Casual law firm with young attitude, established about 15 years ago. Very good work/life balance, some OT but not a lot expected. Required: Bachelor's degree, excellent internships and/or summer employment in a professional business setting, ability to work at a fast pace while juggling multiple projects and pressing deadlines, a two-year commitment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, MS Office, strong technical skills. Strong writing skills including editing, proofing and drafting of internal memos. A self-starter who also works well with a team. Ability to interface well with associates and partners, be responsive to their requests. Comfort level to pro-actively seek out new assignments. A strong desire to learn litigation with capability to grasp legal concepts quickly.
