VP Business Development, Marketing Cloud

We are in the process of expanding our business development team with the goal of taking on clients that are interested in achieving higher forms of success with this proven integrated model. As such, R2i is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our sales team, with a specific focus on identifying opportunities where Marketing Cloud solutions can bring significant benefit to the customer.This role is responsible for identifying, contacting and closing business within various marketing and technology departments of the most notable brands. This individual is consultative in their sales approach, a strong brand ambassador, the lead evangelist for the R2i amazing digital portfolio of work in Marketing Cloud and has the ability to create awareness and spread our story while delivering on a proven process for converting prospects into customers. He/she is responsible for success through the entire sales process from establishing a prospect list to leading a cross discipline team through the pitch process and properly transitioning the new relationship with our clients over to our delivery team. The ideal candidate for this role has a solid Digital Marketing and technology background and can influence large opportunities and bids during the sales cycle and who can develop trusted advisor relationship. This position will report into our SVP Business Development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOBUnderstanding of online (SEO, SEM, Display, etc.) marketing techniques and strategiesIn-depth knowledge of marketing trends and how these relate to Digital Marketing, in particular CMS and personalizationCompetitive knowledge of Enterprise CMS, DAM, Web analytics, Optimization and Campaign Management vendors.Clear understanding of industry best practices across one or more verticals (eg B2B technology, financial services, retail, travel, Pharma, EDU, etc.)Exceptional presentation skills and client-facing experienceProficient technical writing skillsSolution selling skillsAbility to develop creative solutions to problemsAbility to present product demonstrations via web conference and onsite at client officesAnswer business, technical and logistical questions during the sales process through documentation, presentations, and demonstrationsMeets or exceeds an annual quota of $3MProven experience putting together a business development plan to grow a specific regionAbility to follow a rigorous process for qualification and pursuit of new businessAbility to build senior-level client relationshipsHas existing network of senior-level client relationshipsAttend relevant networking events and workshops in order to build relationships within the various local communities.Ability to speak in front of both small and large groups in order to evangelize the r2i brand and our digital portfolio of worSolid understanding on how to use the various presentation platforms in order to present our creative work in the most appealing mannerProven ability to lead other team members as needed to aid in the research and recommendations in order to drive the sales & pitch processDeeply understand and present the various r2i product and service offerings to prospects in client meetings and to various audiences at networking and trade eventsAbility to understand client/prospect challenges, business model and their competition as it relates to their needs in brand, customer experience, demand generation and marketing technology services across all service areasOTHER RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborative team approach in partnership with our SVP Business Development and our internal marketing team to drive R2i brand awareness into the West RegionTravel may be required. Heavy emphasis is within the West region but travel across the country may be required based on prospect/client needProvide client management and account management services and support as neededPerforms other related duties as required and assigned by managementREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES5+ years of client services and/or business development experience (technical consulting, agency, marketing services) with preference given to candidates with successful business development backgrounds at mid-size to large agencies and/or large Adobe systems integratorsExtensive knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to travel and work in field based roleMust be self-managed, responsive, and dedicated to customer growthStrong verbal and writing skillsExceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skillsAgency and Adobe Marketing Cloud background a mustMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree requiredCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSHighly competitive compensation of base, commission and benefits.
