Registered Nurse Clinician II Clinical Decision Unit

Suburban Hospitala€ (TM) s Clinicial Decision Unit is an observation unit which is on a designated floor within the hospital that holds 20 beds, which works closely with the emergency departmenta€ (TM) s 32 bed unit. The CDU provides an alternative to discharge or hospital inpatient admission for the emergency department patient who may benefit from an extended observation period (generally less than 24 hours) Patients of all age ranges who are not ill enough to warrant immediate inpatient hospital admission but are also not well enough to return to their place of residence may need additional monitoring, diagnostic evaluation, and/or treatment in an observation unit/CDU prior to disposition. The Nurse Clinician II is responsible for independently planning, coordinating, and directing those activities essential to the provision of quality nursing care for assigned patients; coordinating the medical plan provided by support service departments relating to the assigned patients; identifying and implementing nursing interventions and evaluates results; and demonstrating developing leadership qualities. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland. Bachelors Degree preferred. CPR required. Must have a minimum of one year experience. ED experience is preferred. This position is full time 7p-7a (3 12 hour shifts.)
