SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Manager of the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center, and under the guidance of the Perinatology Sonographer Lead, performs professional duties involved in a variety of diagnostic images in a high risk obstetrical ultrasound unit. Receives limited direction from the perinatologist and general supervision from the Administrator of Diagnostic Imaging. This individual is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. This individual is responsible for adhering to departmental standards and expectations regarding patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the reporting of equipment failure, and quality assurance (QA). This individual maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times, and is self-motivated to increase her/his level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others. PRN Position Day Shift8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Work REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of an approved curriculum in diagnostic medical sonography. Registration with The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/GYN. Two (2) years of experience in perinatalscanning, sonogram examinations and equipment usage. Must be certified in first trimester screening and have a background in fetal echocardiography and invasive ultrasound guided procedures, including but not limited to amniocentesis, CVS, amniotransfusion, etc. Must have a comprehensive understanding of perinatal ultrasound protocols for all trimesters. Prior experience with 3-D and multi-planar imaging is preferred. Current Registry with the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) and clinicalcertification in OB/GYN. If hired without RDMS credentials, must pass the registry exam by the RDMS, plus one (1) clinical certification within the first year of employment. Certified with the Fetal Medicine Foundation in First Trimester Screening within a year of hire. Current CPR certification or to be completed by end of HCGH orientation period.
