Candidate must possess an Active Secret Clearance in order to be considered Candidate must obtain SCI once an offer is made and accepted Schedule : Full-time Description This position provides System Engineering and Interoperability services to ensure that systems under the Product Director's purview (AFATDS, PFED, LFED, Centaur, GDU-R and JADOCS) can fulfill established operational and performance requirements. Essential Job Functions Provides the full range of system engineering and interoperability support to assist the Product Director Fire Support Command and Control (FSC2) in the integration of Fires-related systems with systems from the Army, Joint Services, and NATO/Coalition countries. Assists in the identification, tracking, and resolution of system and fires related engineering issues in areas to include development of systems in compliance with Common Operating Environment (COE) architecture and standards, interoperability, graphical user interface, experimental testing, and requirements analysis. Provides technical and programmatic support for efforts associated with the Army's Capability Set development. Serves as a government tasked observer/participant to various Joint, Army, and Mission Command IPTs, Working Groups, meetings, and teleconferences. Provides cost, schedule, and technical assessments of actions items directed at PM MC to include planning and scheduling of capabilities development cost benefit analysis, and technical merits of planned capabilities that might benefit the Warfighter. Provides system engineering in support of FSC2 and PM Mission Command in product demonstrations which may include a full array of ABCS capabilities. Provides technical support at government specified demonstration sites by setting up systems (hardware and software), operates the systems, and briefs and demonstrate system capabilities to visiting dignitaries. Participates in the development, review, and assessment of the System Engineering Management Plan and other Mission Command documentation, such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) for FSC2 systems and the PM MC system of systems. Conducts engineering studies and analysis to clarify technical issues and to facilitate the programmatic decision making process among the Government technical staff. Studies will consist of ABCS/PM Mission Command Interoperability issues, architectural issues, responses to changing warfare environment described in the Joint Munitions Effectives Manuals (JMEMs), capability insertions or Information Assurance requirements. Designs and develops integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance. Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons of software/hardware systems to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations and measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations. Analyzes potential systems investments and prepares supporting documentation for recommendation(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues. Provides escalated technical support to customers by handling systems-related issues; may provide on-call technical support telephonically and/or electronically. Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies and conducts testing to enhance performance. Conducts moderately complex projects or phases of significant projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques and assists in the development, implementation and documentation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices. Develops and implements training tools and documentation. Provides technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients. Performs repairs, maintenance and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures. Investigates and resolves matters of significance. Provides work guidance to less experienced personnel. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Four or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture. Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas Experience working with one or more structured programming languages Experience working with design principles and applications Other Qualifications 8-10 years of experience in Fire support Working familiarity with all FSC2 software Analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of systems Communication skills to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members Organization skills to balance and prioritize work Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
