Baltimore, MD: The Johns Hopkins Hospital The Neurofibromatosis (NF) Center provides care to >1200 patients of all ages with NF1, NF2 and schwannomatosis. JHH has 1 of only 2 NF centers in the country. Candidates for the Neurosciences ClinicNCIIE must be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland. Requires Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and three-five years experience as a registered nurse. Knowledge of nursing process. Social, behavioral and physical knowledge of current health care environment. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care. Ability to work in a fast paced university teaching hospital. Responsible for coordinating care for bedside procedure patients for a designated time period to achieve clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes. Provides direct patient care based on the nursing process; mentors and manages others to promote quality and excellence of care. Assists with the preparation, monitoring, and assessment of patients for whom the central procedure team has been consulted. Responsible for review of the medical record including medications and labs. Works collaboratively with, and provides leadership for, a multidisciplinary bedside procedure service to optimize team performance and patient outcomes. Facilitates scheduling and prioritization of procedures in coordination with the team. Promotes improvement in unit, processes, and systems to benefit patient care and achieve unit and organizational goals. Incorporates and operationalizes goals and objectives of department at the site of patient care. Assists with the formulation of policies within the Procedure Service and other administrative matters.
