The CenturyLinkLead SAP Engineer - is responsible for SAP Solution Manager Reporting and Administration.The engineer filling this role will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the area of technical focus and provide leadership and technical skills with Solution Manager reporting for customer contractual and audit purposes. SAP Solution Manager. Actively participate in day to day support and project efforts for client environment(s) Act as a thought and process leader for the team Follow and promote the use of CenturyLink global process standards Actively mentor other team members Participate in cross functional teams to foster collaboration within, and outside of, global operations Drive documentation lifecycle for client, audit and technology specific areas Position Requirements: Solution oriented personality - highly motivated individual who is a self-starter Values diversity, promotes teamwork, collaboration, emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity and cost effectiveness Create concise and accurate technical documentation for consumption throughout CenturyLink Participate and collaborate with other operations management teams to provide root-cause analysis for all client outages and failed changes in the environment Establish standards and thresholds for monitoring and auditing to ensure stable and supportable reporting implementation and continual requested capabilities Drive service improvements and efficiencies through the design and development of effective automation Define the standards and documentation for the installation, configuration, and support of client reporting Review audit and performance results to facilitate proper capacity planning and service management Drive for self-improvement in technical and non-technical areas Other duties as assigned Required skills: Candidate must be a SAP Solution Manager expert Should have worked in complex global landscapes both Support and Implementation projects Should have experience in implementing Technical Monitoring Suite and fine tuning of threshold values Should have implemented Business Process Monitoring for Standard KPIs and Custom KPIs (desirable for custom KPIs) Should have implemented Data Volume Management Should have implemented Change Request Management (ChaRM) Candidates must have demonstrated experience in day-to-day production support, monitoring, issue resolution, troubleshooting skills, performance tuning, proactive system analysis and standard Solution Manager account administration activities Must have SAP Solution Manager Administration skills - Change and Release Management - Business Process Operations - Applications & Technical Monitoring - Solution and Landscape Management - Dashboards and Reporting Assume ownership of CenturyLink managed services, including both platform and application technologies Liaison with project management office and appropriate project management offices to help manage the day-to-day interdependencies of multiple project teams Assist a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables business team members to develop professionally Experience doing complex predictive analysis in multiple industries Analyzes, defines, and assists in the deployment of the SAP based solutions Focuses on advanced analytic application using predictive knowledge Provides valuable insight. Has the ability to recommend action or to guide decision-making rooted in business context Position needs to assist decision makers the insight they need to predict new developments, capitalize on future trends, and respond to challenges before they happen Good hands on expertise on various technical aspects of SAP technologies Strong interpersonal skills that drive collaboration and promote a productive and creative work environment Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in Relationship management Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems Overall knowledge of SAP Basis and its associated products The ability to effectively communicate with clients, peers, and management The ability to develop and maintain internal and external professional relationships Experience with SAP Solution Manager in a high compute environment Experience on SAP Solution Manager activities including, EWA setup, E2E, SD and CHARM configuration Unix and Linux Administration experience Experience in reviewing the system performance and provide recommendations for improvements Setup and maintain the TMS in SAP HANA environment Ability to develop and modify shell scripts to automate procedures Desired skills: Experience in day-to-day production support monitoring, issue resolution, troubleshooting skills, performance tuning, proactive system analysis and standard SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP BO other modules as needed Ability to perform account administration activities of SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP BO, and other modules as needed Proficient in installing, configuring, documenting, troubleshooting and tuning of SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP BW/BI and SAP BO modules Experience with SAP Basis/Hana in a high compute environment Experience on SAP Solution Manager activities including, EWA setup, E2E, SD and CHARM configuration Install and configuration of HANA server, stand-alone SLT Replication Server, add on in ECC for SLT Installation and support of ERP/Business Suite on HANA Create schemas on HANA Server and schedule regular backup Create and configure connection SLT to HANA, SLT to ECC Migration of other database to HANA experience Configure monitoring of SAP HANA Databases(DCC) Setup and maintain the TMS in SAP HANA environment BW data loads monitoring and administration BO services initial configuration and job administration Be able to Architect and activate the Big Data Analytics platform and Approach for: Leveraging HANAs predictive analytics capabilities Operational analytics, aligning with the modules and processes under implementation in SAP transaction applications Leveraging Business Objects Dash boarding and reporting capabilities Define and prioritize the advanced analytics used cases with SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP BW/BI and SAP BO modules Oracle SOA Suite administration Oracle OSB administration Experience with traditional ETL technologies such as Informatica, MS SQL Server or SAP Data Services General understanding of networking and the ability to analyze packet captures in a multi-tiered environment General understanding of host and network based firewalls Experience with various application performance management tools Experience supporting CDN based sites Database Management using SAP or native database tools PI message monitoring and administration Reviewing the EWA reports and provide recommendations to customers Provide Security and Admin support for Integration of HANA with BOBJ which includes Universe, Webi, Design studio HP OpsWare Experienced in current ITIL methodologies Experience on SAP sizing activities Experience with various application deployment technologies Experience with 3rd party SSL providers Experience supporting CDN based sites Database Management using SAP or native database tools PI message monitoring and administration Reviewing the EWA reports and provide recommendations to customers Provide Security and Admin support for Integration of HANA with BOBJ which includes Universe, Webi, Design studio HP OpsWare Experienced in current ITIL methodologies Experience on SAP sizing activities Team Leadership Education or Equivalent Experience: Requires a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on SAP Solution Manager Minimum of 7+ years of IT experience Minimum of 7+ years of Engineering level experience Bachelors degree in a technically relevant field is desired but not required Technical certifications are a plus Alternate Location: US-California-San Jose; US-Colorado-Denver; US-Illinois-Chicago; US-Texas-Dallas; US-Texas-Houston; US-Virginia-Herndon Requisition #: 127824 This job may require successful completion of an online assessment.
