Financial Planning Trainer
Edelman Financial Services, one of the nationa€ (TM) s largest and most well-known financial planning firms, is seeking a skilledFinancial Planning Trainer for our Fairfax, VA location.This position is to help provide the highest degree of financial knowledge and education for Edelman Financial Services to assure that we provide our clients the best available in the industry. Primary Responsibilities include:Work with Research and Education team as well as Planner management helping to train new planners during orientation and follow-on trainingWork with Research and Education team as well as Planner management helping to train existing planners on EFS methods, systems and other practice management needsHelp assess firm-wide developmental needs of the financial planners to drive training and education initiativesWork with the Research and Education team and Planner management to continually assess existing programs and systems the planners use to determine changes and upgrades needed to maximize opportunities with clients and potential clientsWork with Operations and IT Departments for enhancement of existing systems, development of new systems and deployment for bothWork with multiple departments to review and edit written and other material we make available to the publicConduct research as required by Planner management and/or other departmentsTeach the nuances of the firma€ (TM) s culture as needed in all training sessionsPerform other duties as assigned and requiredTravel may be requiredRequirements:Bachelor degree required, preferably in Finance, Organizational Development, Education or related fieldFINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66, and 24 or equivalent (8 or 9/10) securities licenses requiredCFP (R) designation preferredApplicable state insurance license requiredKnowledge in all areas of financial planning including investments, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, taxes, real estate and mortgagesCoaching and training experienceMinimum 5 years financial services industry experience working with clients in a broker/dealer or registered investment advisor environment requiredStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, as necessary to work effectively with staff at all levelsMust be flexible and a strong team playerMust be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervisionAttention to detail, ability to organize work, and follow-up skills are critical to the successful performance of position responsibilitiesAbility to prioritize, address multiple projects and meet deadlines is criticalThorough knowledge of MS Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel is a mustFor more information: www.edelmanfinancial.com EOE.
