Great careers continually advance here. Position Summary: Tax professional of a multi-billion dollar Not- For-Profit Healthcare System. Works closely with the JHHS Director of Tax and JHHS Tax Manager; CFO's and finance directors and JHHS Tax Staff. Is responsible for reviewing certain federal, state, foreign, payroll, FIN 48 tax filings and accounting issues, and misc. state reporting obligations; reviews joint ventures, may be expected to conduct tax research and be responsible for writing tax memos on various tax matters. Should be able to work with Human Resources and Legal Department on various compensation-related tax matters and other sensitive tax matters. Helps the Director of Tax manage a tax group who is responsible for advising and resolving all tax matters for each Healthcare System affiliate including, but not limited to, all tax planning and compliance aspects of operations: sales, use, property, state and federal income tax , all payroll tax payments and filing, escheat, personal property, and misc. charity registrations requirements. Must be able to work with third party accounting and legal advisors. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and analytical skills required; great attention to detail. Competencies: Education Bachelor's Degree plus one of the following are required: JD or Masters in Tax. Knowledge Demonstrated public speaking skills; strong communication skills with all levels of staff. Must be willing to learn new areas of tax law eg payroll tax and international tax. Excellent writing skills. Must know IRS Form 990 and 990-T, Form 1120 and 1065. Skills Excel, Word, tax software such as Prosystem. Must be able to explain tax law to general population. Ability to work in a team environment and work efficiently under stress. Ability to read and interpret payroll and tax related professional journals, Internal Revenue status/codes and rulings, financial reports, and legal documents as necessary. Must scan for changes in law or practice that might impact the Payroll/Tax Compliance operations. Must have excellent multi-tasking skills in order to meet multiple deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to write proposals, system change requirements, and internal procedures. Knowledge of Federal Wage and Hour laws. Required Licensure Certification, etc. CPA Work Experience Seven (7) years of experience in IRS regulations and reporting in Healthcare or Not for Profit Industry. Experience with SAP a€" HRMS (Payroll), Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Banner Accounts Receivable module, and/or approval workflows. Must be willing to travel to affiliates within 100 miles, occasional travel for training.
