Detailed knowledge and understanding of all aspects of SQL Server 2005/2008, including both development and administration is required. Proficiency in writing complex T-SQL queries/stored procedures/SQL Jobs is an absolute must. The position demands strong analytical and troubleshooting skills while working on a custom mission critical production level database Required Skills/Work Experience Required experience in all areas of MS SQL server 2005/2008/2012 development/administration/maintenance. Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Understand the complex data model of large Enterprise level system for providing Tier III support Resolve Tier III data support tickets as per the defined SLA Identify defects based on issue trends, customer feedback and error reporting from the system Develop script library and document them for reusing in future Conduct internal KT sessions and create knowledgebase articles Perform impact analysis before changes are made, implement changes, test changes, and document them Assist in Capacity Planning, when performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware updates, server configuration changes, or index/query optimizations. Assists for monitoring performance, monitoring server disk space, monitoring logs, ensuring jobs have ran successfully, checking for errors. On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production SQL Server for a year Good understanding of the logical and physical database modeling and design concepts. In depth knowledge of writing and tuning SQL Server stored procedures/functions/views/SQL Jobs. Experience in writing and modifying SSIS packages. Effective oral and written communication skills. Work in a collaborative office environment with other developers, business analysts, and a project management team. Other similar professional duties maybe assigned as needed Education/Training Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, information systems management, software engineering, statistics, mathematics or related discipline; or professional certification and in-depth knowledge of database technology and DBA tools. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of experience.
