Overview:Transaction Network Services Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in our Reston, Virginia office. The Payroll Accountant will assist with processing the semi-monthly payroll for approximately 600+ employees in a multi-state environment utilizing the ADP Workforce Now software application and international payroll for approximately 200+ employees utilizing ADP Streamline in 17 countries. *CBResponsibilities:Assist with the processing of a semi-monthly payroll for US salaried and hourly employees and monthly payroll for international employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on-timeEnsure accurate data entry of employee changes including but not limited to tax forms and direct deposit authorizations formsRespond to garnishment summons from the courts and set-up as required in the payroll systemResponsible for assisting with the extract of data from the Oracle time and attendance system and uploading in the payroll systemAssist with the auditing of payroll to ensure proper transmissionProcess stop payments and ACH reversalsFacilitate consistent and timely resolution of employee issues, concerns and questions by responding to internal customersSolve complex payroll issues relating to multi-state locations and associated taxesWork closely with Corporate Accounting to ensure an accurate payroll interface to the general ledger system and other payroll related entries for month end closeAssist with generating reports on a regular or on demand basis to support payroll processing and other requirements associated with year-endParticipate in audits of payroll-related activity, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirementsAssist the global payroll manager with year-end W2 reporting, federal and state tax filingsInterface with HR team and management regarding payroll questions and employee requirementsContribute to process improvement initiativesMaintain payroll files to ensure they are secure and easily retrievableActively participate in a work environment that promotes teamwork, mutual respect, accountability. Comply with all company policies legal requirementsQualifications:6 plus years' payroll experience in a multi-state environment2-3 years' payroll experience with international payroll requiredCanadian payroll experience preferredWorking knowledge of auditing concepts and controls, pay calculations regarding overtime, pre-tax deductionsExperience must include multi-state and international payroll processing is preferredBachleor Degree in Business preferred or an Associate's Degree or equivalent work experienceFPC preferred and/or CPP CertificationADP Workforce Now software experience including ADP Data Bridge and Custom Reports requiredADP Streamline experience for international payroll processing requiredStrong PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word).Oracle experience a plus
