We are currently looking for an experienced Full Stack DevOps Engineer Lead to join one of our prime Federal projects in Arlington, VA. Full Stack DevOps Engineer Lead will provide strategic direction on application implementation and infrastructure design and development. In addition to application implementation design, this individual formulates approaches for infrastructure, security, continuous integration, deployment, and IT operations. They incorporate latest best practices, scaling and metrics, as well as running day-to-day operations of production and development process tools. This role will work closely with Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing features and rollout of new services, ensuring high availability of our platform. Key Responsibilities Manage and execute software release builds and deployments for both Java/.NET applications with JavaScript UI. These applications run on a variety of middleware like Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, IIS and NGINX Web Servers to name a few. Manage deployments spanning Development, Security Certification, QA, Performance Monitoring and Production environments troubleshooting. Work closely with the development teams who manage UI, middleware, and back-end code Review business requirements, process documentation, workflows, project plans and collateral to identify gaps and differences impacting policies and procedures, then design and implement solutions in partnership with project, subject matter expert partners and more specifically DevOps team.Prepare communications in partnership with project teams or subject matter experts and provide writing/editing support to PM, CPMO and clients.Manage day-to-day individual workload and pipeline of procedure and communication requests. Monitor milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify / mitigate risk.For on boarding exiting application, performing Knowledge transition from Development team to SCM team on build and deployment process.For New applications, work with development to get the requirements of application build and deployment process.After completion of the scripts development and process setup, execute the builds and deployments to all environments based on weekly scheduled build calendar.Assess, identify, and recommend business and technical DevOps policy and procedures impacted by change resulting from project assignments or day-to-day business process areas priorities.Identify and develop opportunities to improve our processes and tools specifically for Automation.Present and champion change to all level of the organization and build understanding, buy-in and adoption of new ideas.Create, foster and continually develop relationships with a variety of internal clients and partners.Coach and mentor individuals and groups on new concepts, processes and tools.Design and promote brands and brand architecture, develop collateral to support CDO brand and the needs of the organization. Adapt incoming collateral to new or existing brand guidelines without losing context or content.Perform smoke/sanity tests for the applications deployed and troubleshoot the application for the issues that arise as part of the smoke test process.Learn the architecture of all the applications to help troubleshoot any issues for each application.Periodically analyze the hardware and software capacities of build infrastructure and provide appropriate recommendation to the Management team for improvements and immediate attention.Education + Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Engineering or a computer-related field. Development exposure to Java, JavaScript and .Net technologies. Hands on experience with Ant, Maven, Linux Shells, Gradle, Chef, Puppet and Perl for script automation. Knowledge base on Weblogic/Websphere, IIS, Tomcat and NGINX Application Servers.Subversion, GIT/Stash/Bitbucket administration and deployment skills, training, and experience on source code management tools.High level of comfort with build automation tools including Linux Shells, ANT, Maven, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Gulp, Bamboo, Jenkins, Perl, TFS and Github.Thorough understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM), Agile Scrum methods and techniques, and release process and related best practicesExperience with development collaboration and management tools like Bamboo, Jira, Confluence. Expertise working with databases like MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL and other databases upcoming databases like Mongo is preferred. Strong Linux and Windows background to work across multi OS environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Formal and strong communication skills when interfacing with internal client organizations and management.
