Job posting end date:02/20/2018 Job Description Metso Metals Recycling division of MAC is an engineering service organization providing engineering and site process control services to the metals recycling industry. This position provides project leadership and management of electrical engineering requirements associated with ferrous and non-ferrous capital projects, Engineered To Order (ETO) opportunities, and Research & Development (R&D). The Electrical Project Engineer provides quality engineered products, timely deliveries, and project profitability by leveraging current resources, using consistent and appropriate project management methodologies, and design/engineering tools and techniques. Maintains and develops technical competency of self and technical team by monitoring/seeking emerging product and system technologies while leveraging customer opportunities to consistently position Metso EE controls as a leader in the metals recycling industry. Coordinates with project managers to distribute drawings to team center clients and customers. Coordinates with purchasing team to ensure EE BOMs are accurately entered in SAP. Coordinates all project-related paperwork for accuracy prior to releasing a project for shipment (sales orders, work tickets, bill of materials (BOM), etc.) as well as estimating project budgets with regard to hours and cost. Monitors/reviews engineering hours allocated to projects, ensuring projects remain within budget. Identify and communicate to Project Managers and Engineering Managers when projects approach budget limits. Participates in internal and external meetings to support customer project requirements. Review sales orders for accuracy, scope and schedule for all sold projects containing electrical panels, software or electrical commissioning. Analyzes customer's requirements and communicate challenges and/or issues to appropriate parties. Reviews/approves all changes in electrical engineering drawings. Engages with Engineering/Product Manager on scope changes in projects and distribute all revisions (drawings/software/manuals) to the appropriate Project Manager. Ensures all updated/released EE drawings and software are maintained and stored in Team Center and distributed to the affected Project Manager. Ensures quality control/testing measures are complete prior to releasing project for shipment. Consults with the Electrical Engineering Manager for guidance, direction, and priorities. Reviews commissioning and installation reports for completeness and accuracy. Travel (domestic and international) may be required. (25%) Performs direct systems programming when required. Coordinates with suppliers and provide accurate design reviews for all medium voltage equipment sold. Assists in a sales technical support role with proposals and contract negotiations and in sales and strategic planning meetings. Creates and design solutions for medium voltage equipment and control systems. Consults with Product Managers and Service Department to develop and improve product line. Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required. Requirements Qualifications and experience Bachelor's Degree in EE or EET Degree required. Minimum 5 years experience in automation and electrical design. Prior experience in PLC programming is required. Must have a minimum of 2 years project management experience. Working knowledge of, or experience in PLC programming (AB, Siemens), HMI programming, drafting software: AutoCAD and AutoCAD electrical required. Working knowledge of drafting software E-Plan a plus. Working knowledge of AC (both wound rotor and cage) and DC motor designs and applications, specifically related to the recycling industry required. Working knowledge of drives, both low and medium voltage, AC and DC Working knowledge of recycling business processes, experience and familiarity of the competitor product line is a plus. Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagram for hydraulics. Skills and abilities Professional client management and business literacy skills.
