PC Analyst (Richmond, VA)
Effective 11/1/16: Employees who are required to drive his or her personal vehicle or a rental vehicle on a routine basis* will be automatically enrolled into the BCBST Driver Safety Program. The employee will also be required to adhere to the guidelines set forth through the program. This includes, maintaining a valid driver's license, auto insurance compliance with minimum liability requirements; as defined in the "Use of Non BCBST-Owned Vehicle" Policy; and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). *The definition for \"routine basis\" is defined as daily, weekly or at regularly schedule times.PC Analysts serve as technical experts on the PC platform. They are responsible for the on-going support of BCBST's computer users regarding all issues pertaining to PCs, peripherals, and EWS owned software. PC Analysts perform complex troubleshooting, and serve as technical liaisons between users and Technology Shared Services support staff, as required. They evaluate new PC related technology and maintain an understanding of the PCs integration with the core infrastructure technologies. PC Analysts posses leadership ability and can be called upon to lead teams.Job Description:Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvides timely and effective technical support to PC-end users, answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and providing general assistance in the use of PC hardware and corporate-standard software.Performs maintenance on all PC hardware and peripherals used throughout the company.Maintains regular contact with hardware vendors for repairs to hardware still under a service contract, and performs non-warranty service as required.Sustains associated warranty and service records for PC hardware and software.Orders PC parts and components to maintain an adequate inventory.Contributes, as a subject matter expert (SME) to the development, implementation and maintenance of PC-related policies, procedures, and standards that conform with organizational objectives and IT industry best practices.Documents technical issues and their resolution, in accordance with corporate standards.Analyzes team performance of support activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems.Identifies reporting metrics and statistics on team systems and processes.Researches, evaluates, and implements new PC technologies and solutions to meet the needs of the business.Maintains basic knowledge of core infrastructure technology as it integrates with PC hardware and operating systems.Undertakes small technical projects, and serves as a resource on larger projects, as assigned.Demonstrates leadership ability both technically and professionally.Job Qualifications EducationBachelors in computer science related field or equivalent years of experience is required. (Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested).
