This position will serve as a Senior Microsoft System Administrator:Builds on the capabilities of the Network Administrator by incorporating Network Operating Systems as part of their skill set (eg, Windows NT Server, NetWare, UNIX)Maintains enterprise information technology services (eg, FAX Servers, Messaging Systems, Databases, GroupWare, Document Management)Oversees system security and data integrityAssigns passwords and monitors use of resourcesOversees system recovery mechanismsLeverages experience to provide input to improvements (People, Process, Tools, Technical) in the environmentExhibits the capability to resolve issues independently; coordinate and communicate changes and major issues with the client and team members.Responsibilities:Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusionsPerforms regular file archival and purges, as necessaryPerforms daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes, or disks, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessaryPerforms daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes reviews system and application logs; and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backupsResearches and recommends innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scaleDevelops and maintains installation and configuration procedures. Contributes to and maintains system standardsInstalls new/rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Installs and configures systems such as supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applicationsProvides problem determination, including interfacing with IT professionals to isolate the causes of problemsProvides problem resolution and break/fix situations, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical supportEvaluates, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots application and database services for on UNIX/LINUX serversManages clustering and virtualization technologies, working in a Multi-zoneActs as a liaison with other components to provide information sharing pertaining to the needs of the diverse set of computer users supported by the client as a wholeProvides for software installation, configuration, upgrade, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Provides account management and access controlResponsible for the day-to-day management of the Windows Server infrastructure, to include, oversight of Active Directory and SQL ServerProvides leadership to the Windows Server team, overseeing activities within server imaging, Active Directory management, and SQL ServerResponsible for incident management as it relates to Active Directory and SQL Server Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues. Works primarily in a virtualized environment.Qualifications:Years Of Experience:6-9 YearsRequired Education: Bachelors; Desired Education: MastersMust have a minimum of 8 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, specializing in Windows operating systems Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and SQL Server Must possess a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure or equivalent.Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance (US Citizenship or Greencard).
