"Department Description: Responsibilities include, working on assigned projects with limited or no supervision while performing installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment and systems ensuring the work is performed in accordance with all relevant codes and safety standards.* Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions and equipment using various test instruments; maintain and repair electrical systems; test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; fabricate electrical parts; participates in the maintenance and operation of electrical tools and equipment used by the operation* Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical systems including electric motors, electric controls, scales, and other electric equipment (locomotives, plant radios, and electric tools)* Test & monitor electrical systems, equipment, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem* Ensures the proper function of electrical safety devices* Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems* Monitors work done for adherence to the NEC requirements* Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction* Maintains appropriate service and repair records, (records necessary for MSHA)* Analyze and responds safely and appropriately to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service* Follows blue prints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to conform to the building and safety codes* Any other duties as assigned by managementProject Description:Carmeuse offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that may include medical, dental, life, disability, vacation, holiday, and 401(k) savings plan, depending on your work location.Requirement Description: * High School Graduate or GED equivalency* Electrical license* Must be able to work rotating shifts as needed* Minimum 4 years and 8000 hours of on the job electrical maintenance training* Demonstrated competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized electrical maintenance management systems; strong leadership and Total Productive Maintenance experience; Six Sigma training is a plus* Basic Computer Logic and Programming* Inspection and identification and knowledge of all electrical distribution systems (12 to 5K volts)* Prior experience demonstrating effective leadership skills* Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic* Fluency in spoken and written EnglishKnowledge* Knowledge of electricity and how it works* Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment* The ability to advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous* Knowledge of the mining process and equipment associated with such (conveyors, crushing and screening equipment, mobile equipment, etc.)* Knowledge of materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade* Knowledge of State and Federal Codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade.* Knowledge of the methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment* Knowledge of providing estimates for: time, cost and materials for electrical projectsSkills* Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely* Ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses * Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance* Demonstrated ability to take initiative, strong organization and prioritization skills* Demonstrates the ability to apply appropriate conflict management strategies to ensure conflicts are resolved to the benefit of all parties* Excellent math skills required* Establishes and maintains highly productive working relationships across the organization with all groups within the region and the company; demonstrating respect for conflicting points of view, listens to others, and builds strong working relationships* Demonstrates good computer skills ie word, basic excel, maintenance programs and SAP an asset* Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards* Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously with an emphasis on being results oriented
