Program Manager, Delivery Excellence
Phase One is seeking a Program Manager to lead Delivery Excellence across multiple Salesforce implementation projects for government clients. Each one of these Salesforce implementation projects has a Project Manager who is ultimately responsible for all contract deliverables. The Delivery Excellence Program Manager will work closely with these Project Managers as well as other Phase One executives to ensure the following:During the proposal phase of new work capture, the company applies a consistent methodology to assess requirements, determine the appropriate technical approach, and determine project sizing, level of effort, and staffingEach Salesforce implementation project meets overall Project Health goals (eg, schedule, cost/profit, and technical performance requirements)The company has a core set of IT project lifecycle management methodologies (eg Agile), templates, and approaches that are consistently applied across our IT implementation engagementsClients have access to a senior technical professional who can speak with authority on project and technical delivery best practices and to provide an overall sense of confidence regarding the companya€ (TM) s IT capabilities As can be seen from these overall objectives the Delivery Excellence Program Manager is an executive that has significant Salesforce implementation experience to draw from as well as the capability to work in a highly dynamic, growth environment. On any given day, the Delivery Excellence Program Manager may be engaged in proposal support, client engagement, and project oversight. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, client engagement finesse, as well as business acumen. It is an excellent opportunity for a technical individual who seeks to grow into broader client advisory, project management oversight, and business development roles.The Program Managera€ (TM) s primary responsibilities include overseeing and assessing the health of Salesforce implementation projects across multiple client accounts; identifying and acting on growth strategies; ensuring that the company has formalized approaches to IT project delivery; and ensuring the company has consistent and formalized approaches to IT project estimation.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsures the overall delivery quality of Phase Onea€ (TM) s Salesforce implementation projects across the federal government through the development of standardized IT project management methodologies and the assessment of the IT project health of on-going projects on a regular basisEnsures a consistent and effective process to analyze RFPs to determine the appropriate technical approach, project sizing, and staffing. Actively participates in developing technical approach by working in collaboration with the proposal team who are ultimately responsible for writing the proposalEnsures client value is being delivered by understanding client needs, team skills, and cost implicationsFosters and promotes innovative thinking across the client environmentBuilds and maintains client relationships, working in collaboration with other Phase One executives to develop the strategic vision for clients and internal teamsBuilds trust with client executives and internal teamsHandles challenging client situations and offers guidance & direction to client executivesEstablishes and presents a seamless Phase One face to clients through effective coordination with colleagues inside and outside of the projectsAssists in / escalates reducing roadblocks for employees so they can focus on doing what is right for the clientMentors team, helping them to develop skills and capabilities in support of their professional growth Required Qualifications10+ years of management consulting experience with background in the areas of IT Engineering, IT Governance, Strategic Planning, and/or Program Management including Solutions Delivery as it relates to PaaS (specifically, Salesforce.com)Experience working within Federal agencies to provide advisory servicesProvide superior group/team facilitation skillsAbility to enter client environment and provide recommendations after assessing the requirements and the current stateAbility to provide a consistent approach to assessing RFP requirements, developing a technical approach, and estimate sizing, staffing and level of effort. Must be able to put into place the procedures that enable consistent IT project estimation across the companyAbility to develop and ensure the consistent implementation of IT project lifecycle methodologies across client engagementsAbility to provide IT project health assessments (schedule, cost/profit, and technical performance) and provide recommendations on corrective actions, if requiredDemonstrated business development acumen, particularly with respect to expanding existing opportunitiesDemonstrated experience managing the expectations of high profile clients and building a reputation of trustPossess strong oral and written communication, presentation skills, project management, and mentoring skillsThe primary work location will be at Phase Onea€ (TM) s Alexandria office, with travel to client sites in the Washington Metropolitan area for client meetingsMust be able to obtain a Federal government client badge and may be required to pass a background investigationPreference for an advanced degree, Masters in Business Administration, or related technical degree a plus (or equivalent combination of education and experience) .
