We re seeking Open Source Software Engineers with Full Stack JavaScript development experience to support our Open Source initiatives as we continue to grow and expand into various technology stacks!AIS () is a highly regarded technical services firm specializing in custom application development and managed services. Work in a team with other smart AIS employees using cutting open source edge technologies to solve challenging problems across the Federal Government. Work in a Lean Startup Agile environment with participation in Sprints and daily stand-ups/scrums, attempting to fail quickly and iterate while testing out hypotheses/assumptions. Apply advanced knowledge in the areas of engineering, computer science, and information technology for the technical design, development, and implementation of complex programming projects. Possess sufficient writing skills to prepare and generate technical reports and other documentation pertinent to the position. Collaborate with other members of the development team and project managers to deliver solutions that surpass client expectations while meeting deadlines and budgets.Profile of Success: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science and previous open source and full stack development experience developing software solutions. Have an ability to thrive with considerations towards volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Utilize understanding of Industry Best Patterns and Practices with principles in guiding application development. Desire to work on open source initiatives in the open with open datasets within the Federal Government. Familiarity with consuming/implementing open datasets and open source APIs. Develop new web applications and standards-based services (REST/OCG) using Python, Django, and JavaScript. Architect and deploy supporting PostGres, MySQL, MongoDB databases. Experience using open source, web, JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, NodeJS, ReactJS). Experience with SOA/web services/messaging design and programming. Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.Other Desirable Skills: Desire to blog or present and speak publicly or internally on technical topics. Architect and deploy Windows or Linux servers in container technology (primarily Docker).Client Site Locations: DC Metro Area (Downtown DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia)*Consultants assigned client sites are subject to change due to the consultative nature of our work.
