Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation s largest and most well-known financial planning firms, is seeking aVice President of Brand& Creative Services for its Fairfax, VA office. The successful candidate is responsible for the development and management of all branding, collateral and communications supporting marketing programs for prospect lead generation, client retention, and business development. This person will be responsible for brand strategy, identity, and management across all channels. This key leader will drive creative execution and bring the brand to life by managing a team of approximately eight professionals. They will push the creative process and bring a service delivery mindset to the marketing organization. This individual will work in partnership with other marketing leaders, in addition to the sales and technology groups to achieve the desired growth and revenue targets. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the successful individual will be a key leader across the enterprise. Responsibilities: Steward the EFS brand strategy, including the brand positioning and value proposition, brand personality, and brand identity Oversee the brand standards for tone of voice, graphic identity, and other collateral As the keeper of EFS s brand, work with creative managers to ensure that all visual and written representations portray a top quality, consistent brand message Build effective brand promotion strategies to communicate the EFS value proposition to the prospect audience Track and assess the brand strength (ie, awareness, equities, differentiation) of EFS and its associated properties (sub-brands, website) Design, develop, and execute communications and collateral development supporting marketing objectives across mass, event, direct, and digital channels, including: Content strategy and development for The Ric Edelman Show (TRES) as a means to generate client leads and build the brand Direct-response and brand advertising in TV and Radio channels Print campaigns for lead generation and seminar/event promotions Direct mail copy and creative to effectively generate leads from prospective clients in our office markets Manage all verbal and graphic aspects of video, online, radio, and print communications to ensure a vibrant editorial environment that effectively projects the company s objectives, image and core values Build content generation and distribution strategy, leveraging internal and external resources, including outside experts and contributors Oversee writing and content generation for various properties, including the monthly client newsletter (Inside Personal Finance), regular byline and blog content, and other opportunities Develop and manage content and cadence for client communications, including official/regulatory notices, and marketing/value enhancement communications Manage public relations for the EFS brand, generating favorable coverage and publicity for its marketing and related programs. Coordinate emergency or crisis response when necessary Work to consistently differentiate the company through graphic design, digital, print and web design, taking company-wide initiatives to the next level while strictly adhering to the brand strategy Motivate creative teams to push for new concepts/ideas that will continually elevate EFS s image Successfully manage agency relationships and push for the best outside-partner strategy possible Requirements: Bachelor s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required Extensive experience in marketing, creative services, program execution, and brand positioning. Possess a depth of experience among brands that are known for a high volume of creation and collateral output. Experience with project management, prioritization, production trafficking, and content delivery in a deadline-focused environment. Financial services experience is not required. Content creation and execution is needed, specifically in digital. Direct agency or agency management experience is a plus. Understands the creative process and service delivery mindset. A demonstrated understanding of PR and external brand communications. Ability to roll up sleeves, a go getter. Will bring enthusiasm and positivity to the team. Strong communication skills and a fantastic collaborator who enjoys partnering internally. Strong project management and delegation skills required. Able to prioritize and work efficiently in a high-stress, deadline-driven environment. Strong leadership and management skills required, including full-time staff, freelancers and vendors/suppliers. Strong decision-making skills. Able to make decisions in a fast-moving environment that is reacting to events in real time. Strong problem-solving skills.
