The IA Manager works with the JSP and ETM IA and Security Manager to develop and deploy and maintain security technology tools used to protect network and information assets. Works with JSP to implement security technologies and ensures plans for security technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
• Supports the development, deployment and operations of tools / technologies and processes to support security requirements
• Direct the activities of teams to implement and maintain security tools and supporting JSP infrastructure.
• Provide technical and / or project leadership function for assigned projects
• Provide troubleshooting and maintenance on procedures and controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of all information systems assets
• Provide technical expertise and counsel to management, other organizations and special projects personnel
• Make technical decisions by applying fundamental engineering principles and specialized knowledge or skills to assigned tasks
• Collaborate with management in developing technical directions, setting objectives and setting realistic and challenging goals
• Formulate plans to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments for assigned tasks
• Implement work activities to meet these plans, monitor progress and report status
• Provide timely leadership and direction to supporting organizations
• Assist in the modification or establishment of operating practices
• Provide consulting services to program and project teams
• Assess all CM changes for security-relevant impacts on security posture and/or compliance reporting guidelines
• Monitor US Cyber Command and DISA Information Assurance Security Environment (IASE) alerts and notices for impact on GDIT-serviced systems
• Ensure responsible GDIT responsible engineers are aware of all actionable alerts and notices issued by the US Cyber Command, DISA IASE, and/or O&M Agency
• Report compliance of GDIT-serviced systems with actionable US Cyber Command, DISA IASE, and/or O&M Agency alerts and notices
• Collaborate with responsible GDIT engineers to develop POA&Ms when 100% compliance cannot be achieved with actionable US Cyber Command, DISA IASE, and/or O&M Agency alerts and notices
• Interpret and analyze results from periodic vulnerability scans and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance validation activities as directed by DoD, Department of the Army (DA), and responsible O&M Agency
• Perform Operations & Maintenance functions for the ITA network security infrastructure (firewalls, web gateways, mail gateways, ids, load balancers, performance monitoring tools, mgt systems, etc)
• Perform perfective maintenance and/or advanced configuration of equipment in order to protect the network from emerging cyber threats
• Conduct forensic traffic/log analysis to isolate issues or respond to analyst alerts
• Respond to escalated troubleshooting requests
• Maintain and administer network infrastructure standards, documentation and fault tolerance
• Represent the team at recurring Govt meetings (TEMs, IPTS, Config Mgt Boards, etc)
• Present Monitoring/Test Results and Reports as required
• Perform/support integration testing as required

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

 

 

Qualifications 5-8 years of related experience in data security administration.

 

Possess and maintain DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Level II certification.

 TS/SCI preferred.
