Position Purpose:

Job Description Details:

General Summary:

Responsible for maintaining security and safety of hospital, and specifically assigned post, during watch.  Must be vigilant of suspicious activities and persons, taking appropriate actions in ensuring safety and security of hospital.  Must have mental and physical ability, to stand for long periods of time, with extensive walking and stair climbing.  Must be able to write reports in neat and legible manner.  Although usually assigned to one shift, must be available to work all three shifts, when needed.  Must possess good people skills, and be able to deal courteously with public on daily basis.  Must be able to perform essential job functions, to include daily patrols, and function without bias or discrimination.  Supports Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Minimum Licensure & Certification Required (if applicable):

1.  Must submit to fingerprinting, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and State criminal history checks and/or background investigations.

2.  Must possess valid Driver's License.

3.  Must be able to acquire Special Police Commission from State of Maryland within one (1) year of appointment.

4.  Must have BLS Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

1.  High school diploma or equivalent.

2.  One (1) year of experience as security officer, fireman or policeman.
