About the Position:
This position serves as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) working for the Chief, Cyber Network Defense Division of the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), Army Corp of Engineers Information Technology (ACE-IT) Cyber Security Division. Employee is delegated technical expert for cyber security intelligence initiatives or roles as assigned by the Cyber Security Directorate Chief/Cyber Security Division Chief on IT systems security principles, concepts, and methods for the purposes of transforming, modernizing, and enhancing the cyber security intelligence capability of USACE.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
1) Gathering evidence on criminal or foreign intelligence entities within cyber initiatives AND 2) Correlating network traffic anomalies with computer system events to identify threats AND 3) Developing research leads to identify responsible sources of intrusion.
All experience areas shall additionally demonstrate each of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication 4) Problem Solving. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-12.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
- CYBER SECURITY INTELLIGENCE
- CYBER THREAT ANALYSIS
- NETWORK SECURITY ARCHITECTURE
- ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
