These positions are located at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Headquarters (BUMED-HQ) and/or it's Detachment Offices.  The incumbents will perform office automation and clerical duties in support of unit personnel.  This is a Student Trainee position under the Pathways Internship Program.

The selectees grade determination will be based on the number of years (1 or 2) of education they have completed in a post-high school study at a qualifying educational institution.  

Hourly Basic (B) Rates

GS-03: $13.84

GS-04: $15.54

    Eligibility PATHWAYS PROGRAM

    Are you currently accepted for enrollment or enrolled in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate? (YOU MUST SUBMIT PROOF OF ENROLLMENT)

    Minimum Qualifications GS-03:

    Have you completed 1 full academic years of post-high school study at a qualifying educational institution? (Must submit transcripts.)

    Minimum Qualifications GS-04:

    Have you completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree at a qualifying educational institution? (Must submit transcripts.)


    Education Statement:

    One full academic year of undergraduate; graduate; vocational; trades; technical or high school education is the number of credit hours determined by the college, university or school to represent 1 year of full-time study. The high school curriculum must be approved by a State or local governing body. All education beyond high school must be accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

    A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.

    This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.  Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of employment) consenting to season influenza vaccinations.
