County-Wide Domestic Violence Coordinator (Program Manager)
Coordinates the development and implementation of interdepartmental and community plans, strategies, policies, and communication of the Domestic Violence Prevention, Policy, and Coordinating Council (DVPPCC), Domestic Violence Network (DV Network), and Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team (DVFRT). Facilitates strategic planning processes, policy and legislative analyses, data collection and reporting, benchmarking, process improvement, and other work related to domestic and sexual violence prevention, policy, and program management. Manages relationships with county agencies, community nonprofits, civic groups, and residents in order to ensure a coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence. Acts as a central point of contact for, and should have significant experience working on, issues of domestic and sexual violence as well as stalking and human trafficking. Provides technical assistance to community and county partners as needed. Coordinates and implements critical time-sensitive special projects, program alliances, and joint initiatives. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the director of the Office for Women & Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (OFWDSVS).
Note: The salary offer will not exceed the mid-point (or $103,149.28) of the advertised compensation range.
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in social services or human services, or with major course work in a specialty that confers within a community-based service delivery setting (for example, child development and family studies, education, public administration, recreation), or other related field; plus five years of professional experience in the social services, human services, or other community-based service delivery service or setting; two of which included supervising professional staff. A master's degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Superior oral and written communication skills, including proven ability in drafting, review and feedback, and editing. Significant operations management experience related to complex project development and management. Experience in grant-writing, including review, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in development and oversight of budgets is important. Proven ability to drive multiple aspects of initiatives and projects from inception to implementation within limited timeframe. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams, across departments, and with both county and non-governmental sectors is imperative. Must function as a collaborator, problem solver, and relationship-builder. A master's degree public administration, law, or social work is preferred.
Must be a self-starter with excellent management and coordination skills, including meeting facilitation; leadership skills; confident in making judgments and quick decisions; flexible, and can-do attitude on short turn-around. Must be able to tolerate stress and be resilient, be highly organized and attentive to detail, and have the ability to work under pressure with multiple and shifting priorities.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
May be required to provide emergency services work in the event of an emergency or disaster.
Ability to drive a vehicle and to travel to attend meetings off-site and throughout the state, meet with community groups, visit services recipients, and conduct trainings.
Evening and weekend availability, on occasion, will be necessary as well as staffing of a 24-hour emergency hotline and 24-hour Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) hotline.
Job is generally sedentary in nature, however, visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor. Ability to operate keyboard driven equipment and input, access and retrieve information from a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
