The OT, PT, Adaptive Physical Education Department works collaboratively to promote full participation and engagement in daily routines, classroom activities, community outings, and recreation and leisure pursuits for all students. The department strives to facilitate healthy interactions, developmental and academic growth, personal success and well–being in order to lead independent and fulfilling lives as productive members of their communities. Our staff focus on the individual student’s needs by providing interventions, and/or learning experiences with appropriate accommodations and modifications that assist and support our students’ performance in the least restrictive environments.
Ivymount School currently seeks candidates for a part-time Occupational Therapist position working with our Multiple Learning Needs High School and our School to Work Post High School Program. Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program and licensed to practice in the state of Maryland (or be eligible for Maryland licensure). School-based experience working with students with multiple disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder and familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred, but not necessary. We offer extensive training.
