This role encompasses functional responsibilities within the HR Department as well as the HR Business Partner role. The successful candidate will bring solid human capital management skills to the position, along with the relationship building skills, business savvy and client service commitment of a strong HR business partner. What Will You Do? Act as the HR Business Partner within a full-service HR department for a 250+ employee growing, dynamic professional services firm/government contractor in McLean, VA. Own and manage human capital programs in areas including performance management, talent management and development, rewards and recognition, employee engagement, onboarding and retention. Develop and implement new HR programs and initiatives in collaboration with the CHRO, HR team, and business leaders. Act as an employee advocate, career guide, and employee engagement ambassador, helping our employees at all levels develop, navigate their careers, align their passions and skills to their opportunities at MFC. Provide coaching, counsel and advice to management on a broad range of human capital issues. Collaborate with the HR team, with the members of the other internal departments, and with all levels of staff in the consulting practice to provide the highest level of customer service to our employees. Manage and develop talent development programs, delivering training and presentations as needed. Manage the employee relations and disciplinary programs with support of In House Counsel and other HR Team members. Provide coaching, training, counsel and advice to employees on a broad range of human capital issues, including: performance management, talent development, employee relations, and other HR functional areas as requested. Partner with consulting practice stakeholders on projects and initiatives, including those related to development, performance management, talent management, etc. Initiate and collaborate with the HR Team on strategic and operational HR projects and programs. Coach executives, managers, and employees on policies and procedures to ensure company and employee adherence to federal and state laws related to the HR functions. Visit employees at client-sites or hosts in-office HR meetings and events to share initiatives and connect with employees. Perform other duties as assigned. What Do You Need to Succeed?Minimum Qualifications Bachelorsa€ (TM) degree (with an HR focus preferred). PHR/SPHR or other HR certification. 5+ years of relevant experience in a well-rounded, hands-on HR Business Partner role. Solid foundation and knowledge of HR principles and HR best practices, with demonstrated strengths in performance management, talent management and development, employee relations, employee engagement, etc. Prior experience in professional services/consulting. Solid working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and a strong technical aptitude for learning new systems.Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of prior HR Generalist experience Prior experience in government contracting Experience at both small/mid-sized and large companies Experience supporting a geographically dispersed company Experience with an HRIS system (particularly with Deltek, Costpoint, Cognos and ADP) Active in HR and business associations/organizations a plus.
