Develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with company/customer system architecture standards.

LVC-IA Mananger provides local and distributed live, virtual, constructive simulations and gaming training support incorporated live (HITS) virtual (AVACATT), RVTT/RVS/CCTT), and games for training (VBS3) training devices supporting an Integrated Training Environment (ITE).  Responsible for participating in the full lifecycle of training events, planning, preparing, testing, and operate all aspect of the LVC-IA system of systems incorporated into an ITE exercise by performing scenario generation, exercise control, and execution.  Manager shall submit problem ticket reports (PTRs) for system problems/improvements and participate in monthly LVC-IA coordinator meetings.  During times of open LVC schedule, manager will be available to train and fascilitate on comparable non-LVC models as required.

1. Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and designs computer systems to process data.

 2. Analyzes systems and procedures to refine their formulation and converts them to programmable formats.  Codes applications and tests to software requirements.  Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.

 3. Writes or updates software specifications.  Records all inputs and outputs of systems, including file sizes, data back requirements, variability of information and appropriate statistical measures such as frequency, volume, peaking, etc.

 4. Creates logical data models based on functional requirements.

 5. Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.  Proposes solutions to management to provide all the data communications requirements based upon future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

 6. Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.  Responsible for performing system management and system administration functions supporting a distributed computing environment consisting of military simulations systems to include JLCCTC-MRF/WARSIM, JLCCTC-ERF/JCATS, and Low Overhead Drivers (LOD), and provides for the integration of these systems with Mission Command Systems (MCS) and administrative systems in order to support tailored unit digital MCS training requirements for military units ranging from battalion to echelons above corps.

 7. Develops analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems.  Installs, tests, analyzes, and provides problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data communication network.

 8. Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.

 9. Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems.  Analyzes user requests to determine needs, and recommends appropriate equipment and software.

 10. Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.  Monitors all hardware components to ensure terrestrial and possible satelite network communication fascilities are operational at optimum levels, tracking throughout and response time of data network to provide maximum availability and critical scheduling of data transfers.

 11. Provide mentorship, guidance, training and work leadership to system technologies with less experience and understanding of specific functions, MCS, and operating systems.

12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

 13. Participates in special projects as required.
