JOB SUMMARY:

This position is not to exceed one year, but may be extended up to one additional year, based on program requirements, agency needs and budget availability. This appointment does not confer permanent Federal status. This position is open to students attending an academic program, college or university within the Washington, DC commuting area.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
    In order to be eligible for a Pathways Intern Program appointment, you must be a student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full or part-time degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) seeking student in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, 2-year or 4-year college or university, graduate or professional school. Selected candidates will be required to submit a copy of their transcripts and a letter of enrollment or acceptance for enrollment for Spring/ Summer 2017 academic school year prior to appointment.
    Outlined below are the education requirements for this position.

    You qualify for the GS-04 level (starting salary $32,428) if you and possess  the following: Completion of 2 academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.

    You must submit a copy of your college transcript OR a list of college courses with credit hours, dates completed, and grades received to verify education. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted. Official transcripts will be required if you are selected for the position. Proof of enrollment and student's grade will be requested each semester, if selected.

    Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements.  You must show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
