Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate with considerable responsible warehouse/stock-control/inventory experience in vehicle maintenance or related fields including some supervisory experience in the operation of stockrooms, procurement or related fields.  Five (5) years warehouse/distribution center experience.


Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued from the jurisdiction of residence.

Medical Group:

Ability to satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position.  Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job either with or without reasonable accommodation(s).

Job Summary/Duties:

This is supervisory administrative and technical stores management work.  Supervises the operation of either the central storeroom or satellite storerooms and assists the Superintendent of Stores in other assigned work.  Has latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines.  Employee reports to Superintendent of Stores for either the Main Storeroom or Satellite Storeroom depending upon assigned responsibilities.  Superintendent reviews the performance of work through periodic reports and conferences.  Performance will be measured based on the effective operation of this functional area as measured through key performance indicators.

Supervises issue/receipt/storage of materials and supplies at main (central) storeroom or satellite storerooms.  Checks computer updates daily for discrepancies; ensures accuracy of inventories so that replenishment requisitions are generated; reconciles incoming shipments with order documents to ensure matching and proper processing; completes daily the Materials & Supplies Control Sheet which summarizes issues/receipts for each storeroom or sub-storeroom; issues back-orders on material not available but to be shipped at a later date; completes discrepancies in shipment reports; maintains petty cash account for payment of collect freight way-bills on incoming shipments; completes A Notice of Arrival on materials received and destined for other than main storeroom and completes shipping papers on material to be returned for repair/exchange/received in error.

Supervises receipt of material at satellite storeroom ensuring that quantities shipped are actually received and that discrepancies are identified and resolved. 

Assists stock clerks in cross-matching stock numbers to shipments received and ensures that perpetual inventories are maintained effectively.

Ensures that proper store keeping practices are applied.  Assists in completion of daily count books and other inventories.

Supervises and trains assigned storeroom personnel, evaluates grievances with individuals or their representatives and attempts to resolve problems within established Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Completes administrative reports as required.

May be required to work variable hours.
