Low Voltage Systems TechnicianLocationDC - Metro Area (DC/MD/VA)DepartmentLow Voltage SystemsApply NowThe low voltage systems technician is responsible for the programming, troubleshooting and commissioning of low voltage systems, including, but not limited to, fire alarm systems, communication systems, sound systems, security/access control and CCTV.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals and specifications operational/product manuals to properly program and verify new systems.Manage adherence to contract scope, specifications, and code on assigned projects while maintaining material inventory.Coordinate code requirements with local inspectors and serve as technical advisor on system programming and configuration.Communicate with the project management team regarding production schedule, scope changes, back charges, material and labor management.Establish and maintain relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction, quality of service, and long-term relations with Power Design.Respond to emergency service calls as necessary, traveling to jobsites as needed.Travel to different jobsites as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:At least five years of related systems installation experience required.Factory certifications required (Keyscan, Axis, ExacqVision, etc.); NICET certification in security, audio and/or fire alarm preferred, but not required.Possess knowledge of electronics, computer programming, circuitry and technologies related to fire alarm, securit and other low voltage systems.Strong knowledge of local and national codes, BICSI TDMM, and construction safety requirements.Active journeymen or master's electrical license desired.Demonstrate and uphold all of Power Design's core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation and growth.Non-smoker.BENEFITS:National health and dental plans.Paid vacations and holidays.Life Insurance.Short and long term disability plans.401(K) retirement plan.Flexible spending account.Incentive and recognition programs.National discount programs.Relocation opportunities.
