The Information Technology Specialist serves as an expert in database administration and management. Provides recommendations and performs related tasks for planning, management, and administration of various database systems, such as, Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, and, Big Data.

The position is located in the Data Administration Group, Office of the Deputy Chief Information Officer, Office of the Chief Information Officer.

The position description number for this position is 12436.

The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.

The incumbent of this position may work a Flextime, Compflex, or Maxiflex work schedule.

May require occasional weekend and night/evening work.

This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position.

Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.

Knowledge of database administration. **

Ability to plan and execute work assignments using project management principles and methods.
