Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment and Advising
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Division of Professional Studies – Shady Grove campus has an opening for a Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment and Advising. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Recruitment and Retention, the incumbent is a critical member of the UMBC-Shady Grove Administrative Team focusing on the recruitment of prospective transfer students, and degree completion and success of enrolled students at UMBC-Shady Grove. Specific duties include: planning and implementing recruitment strategies and programming; application tracking and support; advising and supporting current students with time to degree processes; acting as an advocate for transfer student support at UMBC; coordinating and implementing recruitment and yield activities (including open houses, information sessions, off-site visits, special programming, and orientations); counseling prospective undergraduate students with the application and admission processes through online webinars, application labs, and one-on-one meetings; actively tracking, reporting, and analyzing undergraduate application and enrollment progress and trends; acting as a pre-transfer advisor toprospective students; advising students on university general education and graduation requirements; coordinating implementation of retention efforts, such as Completer Retriever Campaign, Credit When It’s Due, FYI early alert interventions, and others; supporting recruitment and academic advising needs within the transfer access programs (TSA and R2R); developing and fostering relationships with UMBC’s main campus, other USM institutions, USG partners, and community college colleagues; and performing other duties as assigned. Note: The position will be at the Shady Grove campus in ROCKVILLE, MD.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years experience in higher education. Experience in undergraduate admissions, advising, transfer support work and/or customer service experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic tools to manage data and information strongly desired.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position and includes full University benefits.
