Our global operations and connected expertise enable us to provide cutting-edge, relevant and cost-effective solutions that help our clients safeguard and enrich society and the world we live in. **Job Summary** Maintenance Mechanic / Carpenter Grade 1 - + Perform general maintenance and repair of facilities and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry and general maintenance. Performs maintenance and repairs to all equipment as defined in Section 1.1.1 above as it pertains to his/her trade under the direct supervision of his/her immediate superior. Employee shall also perform Carpenter duties to include, but not limited to, framing and finish work, painting, staining, etc., as well as the design, construction, installation and repair of wooden fixtures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, door, plaques, other custom wood products and other duties as assigned. + Performs carpentry and painting work associated with preventive maintenance and renovation + Responsible for the planning, layout and execution of jobs. + Performs minor masonry and concrete work. + Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling, repair and replace concrete floor tiles, doors and hang pictures and white boards, replace broken window panes, paint floors, steps and sidewalks, and inspect and repair roofs, as needed. + Maintain and repair pipe and fixtures and install vents and traps in the plumbing system, in accordance with local sanitary codes, perform upkeep of restrooms. + Maintain the compound irrigation systems. + Pressure-wash the sidewalks and walkways. + Clean parking lots, paint striping and install parking signs + First line for snow and ice removal. Prepare and maintain snow equipment. Keep track of the salt and ice melt supplies. Install plows and spreaders on the trucks. + Respond to trouble calls and make service adjustments. + Perform preventive maintenance, equipment lubrication and daily inspection in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Program. + Institute corrective action and/or inform supervisor of any deficiencies found in the course of performing preventive maintenance. + Perform general maintenance such as painting, carpentry, plumbing and repair equipment and machinery; + Assists HVAC Mechanics and electricians. + Perform related work as required. + Provides oversight to outside contractors. + Directs other repair personnel as assigned. + Read blueprints and generate bill of materials. **Minimum Requirements** + Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with a willingness to be submitted for higher level government clearances to include a government polygraph + High school diploma or GED required + Minimum of two (2) years experience in trade or building maintenance. + Basic skills in painting, plumbing, carpentry and minor electrical knowledge. + Must have knowledge of preventative maintenance programs + Must be able to operate hand power tools and machinery + Knowledge of building codes and safety codes + Possess practical knowledge of repairs, installation of floor and ceiling tiles, plastering walls, framing form work + Must possess the skills and attitudes to effectively communicate with the customer and client + Four years' experience in trade or building maintenance. + Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, vocational or internal developmental program for a journeyman carpenter **Preferred Qualifications** + TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph + Possess thorough knowledge of the carpentry, maintenance and painting trades. + Must be able to operate power tools and machinery as required. + Ability to write correspondence. + Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
