This position (Assistant Project Manager) is in support of the Deprtment of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center (EACE)and will provide support to the Integrated product team (IPT) in the construction of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Extremity Injury and Amputation Registry (DVEAR). The DVEAR will be a health registry which is an integrated and comprehensive longitudinal record of the history, diagnoses, treatment and functional outcomes of Service Members and Veterans with extremity trauma and amputation.  The system will track individuals from the point of injury, through lifelong care in the DoD and ultimately in the VA healthcare system.  It will be accessible to clinicians, for reference at the point of care, and researchers, for their studies, tracking trends and monitoring outcomes. The DVEAR will support providers and leaders across the DoD in generating clinical practice guidelines, protocols to improve clinical outcomes and facilitating resource allocation.

 

The assistant project manager will work with the  EACE Clinical Informatics and Technology Division in coordinating and executing the project activities underlying the devlopment of the DVEAR. This will require experience with and understanding of the MHS/DoD IT governance pathway to create an MHS/DoD approved IT system as well as the policies and procedures of the MEDCOM, the DHA, the MHS, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

 

 

Responsibilities of this position will include the following:

 

Coordinate with the DVEAR Project Manager (PM), EACE division heads, supervisors, and others, to solicit cooperation, resolve problems, and relay organizational goals, policies, and procedures.Coordinate with the EACE executive staff to develop or revise the DVEAR’s Project Management Plan (including concept of operations, business use case, and trnasitions plans).Update Project Management Plan and Project Timeline with required milestones.Plan, coordinate, and advise management on all EACE and Clinical Informatics and Technology goals and DVEAR system activities. Identify DVEAR stakeholders and develop a stakeholder registry.Assist DVEAR stakeholders in understanding of the EACE goals.Develop a communicaiton plan and marketing strategy to  communicate DVEAR mission and goals and to communicate DVEAR's capabilities to other agencies.Collborate with health informatician and other EACE staff to determine the best sources of data to support the functional requirements of the DVEAREnsure that admsintrative assistant provide necessary support to developing, maintaining, and cataloging the work products generated for the DVEAR over this contract’s period of performance including letters, memos, presentations, and meeting agendas; as well as other tasks; such as scheduling meetings, arranging teleconferences, and monitoring the tasks that result from these meetings.        Education 1. Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

 2. Professional certification (PMP) preferred.

Qualifications 5-7 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.

Knowledge and expereince with DoD/MHS IT systems, including the process  to create an MHS/DoD approved IT system
