The UC Network Engineer Engineers execute the design of the solution. During Design Phase, UC Network Engineer will work review and analyze the proposed Architecture and Design.

Assist with developing Detailed Design and Testing documentation.

Responsible for testing in the Lab environment.

Work to stage the equipment and to install it at the Data Centers, during the Integration Phase.

Will also work with engineers at the customer locations to assist with integration there. Work to ensure that the Site Readiness and Cutover milestones are met.

Will schedule and coordinate lifecycle configuration changes, including configuration changes and service patches.

Daily activities performed include:

    Support the design, test, and integration initiativesExecute installation plans provided by program leadershipWork with other AT&T and contractor engineersProvide design input through peer reviews as requirements are turned into design documentation
    Perform specific site and core system tests including installation test, deployment tests, functional test, and production release test and finally, acceptance testing for customer signoffProvide expert-level troubleshooting and configuration for multiple technologies associated with unified communications product and servicesSupport the planning and migration effortsWork to resolve any escalation issues from the NOC.
 

 

 

Education
    10 years general experience5 years specialized BS (or equivalent) in some communications discipline
Qualifications Candidate seeking this position would need to be very comfortable presenting to groups; either leading discussions or driving an agenda of meetings with customers on various topics related to networking, IP routing, switching and Telephony.

Must be self-motivated and must work with little guidance making decisions about design without management intervention, however, balancing this with communication and keeping management informed about progress and status of deployments.

Candidate would possess a total understanding of all technologies involved in this area to include, IP, T1, T3, ISDN and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and RIP. Understanding of Call Center technology such as ADC, queueing and IVP. Knowledge of vendor hardware platforms such as voice gateway hardware (routers and gateways, hardware platform requirements).
