This position is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home-Washington (AFRH-W) in Resident Services Directorate, Recreational Services Division. These facilities and programs must generate healthy lifestyles, encourages fellowship, boosts morale, and offer stimulation to a diverse senior, male/female population of 550 residents.

    Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:

    • Creating, implementing and advertising a wide range of recreational programs in a healthcare environment.
    • Responsible for staff, performance appraisals, assigning work, filling vacant positions, and dealing with disciplinary measures.
    • Establishing and operating a financial budget with numerous cost centers.


    The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
