About the Position:
This position is located at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Department of OB/GYN, Women's Health Clinic, Fort Belvoir, VA. The incumbent works independently to plan and carry out assignments to include efficient, high volume, front desk service to ensure smooth operations of the Women's Health Clinic. Customer service is a priority. Employee is sometimes exposed to patients with communicable diseases, normal safety precautions and practices are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: adjusting patient appointments or time slots based on provider availability; utilizing automated healthcare system, such as Surgical Scheduling System (S3), Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA); ordering patient tests based on providers orders such as x-ray, labs; and preparing administrative reports utilizing office automation tools such as Excel, and MS Word. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional Requirement: This position requires a qualified typist, being able to type 40 words per minute.
