Engineer Network - Ft Sam Houston, TX - TS/SCI
Provides overall Network support for a broad range of Military System programs supporting the 470th MI BDE on Ft SAm Houston Texas. Supports installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of local area Network (LAN) and/or Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure. Manages daily operations of local and wide area Networks within span of control. May propose solutions to management regarding future needs and current usage. Assists in planning for upgrades and replacements for facilities interconnected on a common Network. Supports initial point of contact for LAN/WAN problems. Provides the focal point for coordination of higher tiers of maintenance support. Will evaluate Network performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools. Evaluates Network changes for operational impact. Works on problems of moderate scope. May determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments. Frequently interacts with functional peer groups. Must understand DOD security policies and procedures. Incumbent will need to maintain a high level of customer service, and possess excellent communications skills. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design. Must meet 8570.1 certification requirements for the position. Must have Comptia Security+(CE) baseline prior to start and a Computing Environment certification relevant to the position.
